2. Physical-chemical analysis of LIB components

    Electron microscopy  investigation of battery materials by traditional (ED, HREM, EDX) techniques to reveal structure defects and transformations on the surface and in a bulk of the particles; crystallographic interpretation of above structural changes
    Applying of modern TEM techniques (STEM-HADDF, EELS etc.) and crystallography to analyze particular structural/compositional futures in the materials 
    SEM analysis (imaging, mapping etc.)

     LIB ECM (equivalent circuit modeling), ROM (reduced-order modeling), EIS/frequency-dependence response modeling
     Analyze the mechanism of heat generation and pressure build-up during the abuse of LIB (heating, overcharging, external and/or internal short circuit, etc.)
     Analyze the mechanism of internal short circuit as a result of cell deformation during the nail penetration, crush, impact, etc.
     Accelerated tests of batteries

14. Modeling and structural analysis of lithium-ion batteries
     Stress & deformation analysis (including abuse conditions)
     Heat transfer analysis of lithium-ion batteries
     Reliability analysis (vibration, mechanical/thermal shock, etc.) of devices using battery packs

15. Modern mathematical methods for manufacturing process optimization
     LIB mass-production cell variations due to production conditions modeling
     Data-driven modeling using production conditions Big Data (including new mathematical model building, statistical analysis, data analysis; data mining, machine learning, pattern recognition technology)
    

Requirements:

    Higher education
    Work experience in the corresponding field(s) is required
    Good knowledge of English language
    PhD Degree is an advantage

We offer:

Researchers and Senior researchers positions are available at Samsung SDI R&D Center in Republic of Korea
The contract is for 2 years with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement
The company offers a competitive salary and extensive compensation package (apartment rent at the expense of company, reimbursement of air tickets to Republic of Korea for the employee and his family members, meals at work, medical insurance fee (partially), visa support, if necessary).
